"Show me the manner in which a nation cares for its
dead, and I will measure with mathematical exactness, the
tender mercies of its people, their loyalty to high
ideals, and their regard for the laws of the land."
William E. Gladstone (1809 - 1898)
British Prime Minister

High ideals are what we strive for at Binkley’s Funeral
Service. The services we make available must meet the
expectations of those whose needs we provide for.
Regardless of the type of service we are called on to
provide we do so with
care and respect for those we have the privilege to work
with. Whether it is a simple or an elaborate celebration
which is desired we will provide services and offerings
which encompass many of the following areas: |
|
|
Staffing and Professional Services |
|
|
Building
and Facilities |
|
|
Equipment
and Supplies |
|
|
Hearse
and Automobile |
|
|
As we conduct Funerals, Memorial Services, Graveside
Services and Celebration of Life Ceremonies the above
listed services are provided in various forms to fulfill
the requirements of each family we care for. At Binkley’s
Funeral Service we are able to conduct a wide variety and
type of service. Our goal is to provide a service that is
personalized to every individual’s needs.
|
|
|

|
The arrangement
process begins by gathering information to assist in the
completion of a number of forms that are required, these
documents include: |
|
Vital
Statistics Registration of Death |
| Funeral
Director’s Statement of Death |
| Medical
Certificate of Death |
| Burial
Permit |
| Cremation
Authorization (if applicable) |
|
From this point a consultation follows to establish
exactly what type of service is required or desired. We
work closely with each family we meet with to make sure
that their wishes are fulfilled exactly as they anticipate
them to be. We outline a variety of options that may be
available in order to establish how the service will be
conducted. No detail is too small and must be given
complete consideration. It is also important to understand
the person whose funeral is being planned. Our thoughts
must be organized in order to allow us to plan a more
personal, meaningful ceremony. |
|
|
Planning a funeral is never easy. Take a moment to reflect
on the following questions. They can help organize your
thoughts and give you a focus to arrange the elements of
the service.
|
|
|
 |
|
Think
of five words that describe him.
What
traits did you admire most?
Did
he ever give you any words of wisdom? |
|
|
|
|
 |
|
What
relationships were important to her?
Other
than family, who will be affected by her death?
Who
had the most influence on her life? |
|
|
 |
|
What
did he do for fun when he was younger?
In
later years, how did he enjoy spending his free
time?
What
type of things gave him pleasure? |
|
|
 |
|
What
things interested her?
What
accomplishments made her proudest?
Was
she a member of any clubs or organizations? |
|
|
 |
|
How
would he want to be remembered?
What
stories would he want passed on to future
generations?
What
five objects could you collect that capture what
he was about?
|
|
|
By considering these
questions families are able to anticipate both their immediate and
future needs. This process is the first step
in preparing not only the details of the service but also
providing the starting point for our journey through grief.
The ceremony that evolves will be the foundation you build
on. The groundwork you lay now will help sustain you as
you
grow through this complex event. |

|
|
|
At Binkley’s Funeral Service we are there to assist you
in moving through this sometimes difficult process. This
is where our expertise lies. As we look after the many
details of the service or ceremony that is selected we are
there to guide and support you in your many decisions.
Many of the details we look after can
vary but often include arranging details with your clergy,
lunch providers, pallbearers, ushers, musicians, lodges,
and service clubs. We also look after cemetery and grave
opening and closing details or arrange for cremation to
take place as well as arranging for the final resting
place of the cremated remains.
|
|
|
Other items we care
for on your behalf include; preparation and placing of
obituaries, arranging radio announcements, placing orders
for floral sprays and arrangements. We provide stationary
products including guest registers and various styles of
thank you/acknowledgement cards. Individualization of
service cards and In Remembrance Folders contain many
personal details and make a meaningful keepsake. We
provide hearse service from the place of death and for the
casket or urn on the day of the service. We make every
attempt to anticipate each and every need you may have and
are prepared to assist in any way we can. |

|
|
 |
In most situations we will complete the embalming process.
Although embalming in most cases is not required by law it
is usually required as a practical necessity. Embalming
also provides for the chance to view your loved one. For
many people this viewing or visitation is the first step
in accepting the reality of the death and it provides an
important opportunity to begin the process of saying
goodbye. The visitation usually takes place the evening
prior to the funeral service although each individual
family is different and require their own personal
schedule. If cremation is your selected option the
visitation may take place privately or be open to the
public. Cremation can precede the memorial service or
follow the funeral service. We will assist you in
selecting the best procedure for you and your family.
|
|
|
As you can see, personalization, the details we care for
and the facilities and equipment we offer all make up the
services we provide. It is also clear that each family’s
needs are different. We need to be versatile in how we
assist each family and mindful of each individual’s
needs. Our service is available 24 hours a day, and we are
always there when you need us.
